Built in the early 1950s as a clothing factory, 50 years later it was vacant, with production being moved overseas. This empty 40,000 sq ft, four storey building was facing an uncertain future and probable demolition. Fortunately a local developer acquired the building and together with A Squared Architects designed and constructed a residential refurbishment of the building, creating 48 new and contemporary apartments together with parking and storage facilities. The development was a resounding success. When completed in April 2009 and the apartments were marketed, they were all sold within 3 months.
